Keeping Our Campus Safe

To ensure the safety of visitors and students on our campus, we ask that you follow the instruction of our staff and student ambassadors to ensure that we can manage the numbers of people in certain spaces throughout the day.

There will be structured campus tours in small groups, showing all the key facilities in our main building and library, rather than visitors exploring independently. Our campus tours will be led by our wonderful team of student ambassadors.

For the drop in sessions, we ask that guests are mindful of room capacity and follow staff instructions to ensure everyone is comfortable and safe.

Parking

Leeds Conservatoire does not have a car park.

We recommend that visitors use the NCP multi-storey car park on New York Street near Leeds Kirkgate Market.

Open Day attendees can pick up discount vouchers for this car park on the day from our Reception Team. We have agreed a reduced rate of £7.30 for the day especially for these events.

Accessibility Information for the Event

We want everyone to feel welcome and comfortable at our event. Below is some important information that may help you plan your visit.

The event is expected to be busy, especially during arrival times and lunchtime. These periods may feel crowded and overwhelming for some visitors.

If at any point you need a quiet space, you are very welcome to come to reception and a member of staff will be happy to take you to our quiet room. You are also free to step out of any session at any time if you need a break.

Noise Sensitivity

If you are sensitive to noise, please note that there will be live performances throughout the day.

Parking and Drop-Off

Unfortunately, we do not have any dedicated Blue Badge parking, however there are a small number of on-street parking spaces outside the building. These are not reserved for our event, and may be in use, however we encourage visitors without access needs to leave these spaces free for those who need them.

The nearest large car park is the NCP at The Markets, which is around a 5 - 10 minute walk from our building. Please note the car park is a multi-storey with ticketed barriers which may be a consideration for some. If you require a marked disabled bay (e.g. for rear wheelchair access), this may be your best option, as there are no dedicated council car parks in the immediate area.

The nearest Blue Badge bays are located outside Leeds Minster, about a 5–10 minute walk from us. These are free for Blue Badge holders but unfortunately limited to 4 hours maximum stay.

Additional information

  • All sessions are held in our St Peter’s Square building, which has lift and step-free access throughout.
  • All talk venues include seating and can accommodate wheelchairs or mobility aids.
  • Our small-group campus tours last around 30–40 minutes and involve walking between two nearby buildings. Our student ambassadors are happy to go at whatever pace suits you.

If you have any questions before the event or would like to discuss your specific access needs, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Our team will also be on hand throughout the day to offer support wherever needed.

We want to make your visit as enjoyable and stress-free as possible.
